GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. — Deputies are searching for a pair of alleged crooks caught on surveillance video running off with expensive Yeti cups.
"They could be a possible high theft item," according to Jacob Hagan, owner/manager of the Ace Hardware in Green Cove Springs.
He said on Monday night, two women, one in a white dress followed by another woman in a purple outfit, stole eleven of the cups. They did it on two trips, eight minutes apart.
"I've been angry before I'm ticked off," says Hagan, who initially greeted the women and said they were very pleasant.
Yeti cups are a popular item, designed to keep cool drinks cool and hot drinks hot for an extended period of time.
But it comes with a price: The regular model is $39.99 while the powder-coated version costs $69.99 apiece.
Hagan said the company treats all of its customers like family and will not let this incident change that.
"You don't want to barricade your store and every customer thinks you’re saying they are a thief, “said Hagan. "We have to do a better job of keeping our eyes open."
