A Rhode Island man claims Amazon messed up his order and sent him sex toys instead of the gifts he wanted to give his daughter and her friend.
“They are adult sex toys,” Alex Bai said. "I think Amazon owes a sincere apology."
Bai said he ordered two wood-burning kits for his 11-year-old daughter.
“Well, definitely not a wood burning kit,” Bai said. “At first, I had no idea what it was."
A Google listing describes the package as a rechargeable wireless remote-controlled vibrating pleasure adult sex toy.
“The label still says it's a wood burning kit, exactly as I ordered,” Bai said.
Bai said he has called Amazon to complain and was told they’d call back, but he didn’t hear back from them. He was eventually told he could have a refund and a $10 credit.
"So I don't feel they are treating this seriously,” Bai said. “They didn't realize how potentially damaging or embarrassing for a customer it can be. They didn't realize what could happen if I just, without checking, gave this to a pre-teen girl.
"You really cannot totally trust that whatever you received from Amazon is exactly what you have ordered."
Bai suggests customers should check their Amazon packages before giving them as gifts.
