Bizarre social media theory suggests Outback Steakhouse really a satanic cult

A Twitter conspiracy theory had some users questioning whether Outback Steakhouse was a restaurant or Satanic cult, and others scratching their heads in disbelief at the conversation.

The theory started with a tweet showing maps of several Outback Steakhouse locations in several cities, including New York and Indianapolis.

When the dots are connected between the locations, it forms a pentagram, a five-sided figure that has become synonymous with Satanism.

Other Twitter users piled on to the original theory, which was retweeted over 117,000 times and favorited over 283,000 times. The popularity of the theory even elicited a response from the company.

Outback Steakhouse sent out a map in a tweet, but this time a Bloomin' Onion, the company's famous appetizer, is displayed, instead of a pentagram.

Despite the clever response, one ardent Twitter conspiracy theorist continued to call out the restaurant, leading to a back-and-forth with the restaurant chain that seemingly netted him a $25 gift card.
