Was the gunshot that Jamal Lyon suffered in the latest episode of "Empire" fatal?
Jamal, played by Jussie Smollett, stepped into the path of a bullet intended for his father, Lucious, on the red carpet of the American Sound Awards.
When the episode ended, Jamal was in the hospital and the Lyon family was in the waiting room, anxious to hear about his condition.
In a preview for the season finale posted to the show's YouTube page, Gabourey Sidibe, who plays Becky, confirmed that there will be a death.
“Last season someone died. It’s unfortunate, but somebody’s got to die this season,” Sidibe said.
Smollet tweeted what appeared to be a goodbye message, saying: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time w/@EmpireFOX.”
