Two Alachua County deputies and a 911 operator helped deliver a baby boy in the sheriff's office parking lot on one of the coldest mornings of the season.
A couple was on their way to the hospital on Sunday when the woman's contractions got so frequent that they had to stop at the sheriff's office.
Deputies Chris Privette and Sam Caouette ran outside and with help from 911 operator Madeline Knight, they delivered the baby in the parking lot.
Deputies then brought baby John and his mom to the hospital.
Privette brought a stuffed animal to John at the hospital after his mom told nurses she was in such a rush she forgot to grab one.
John and mom are doing well, Alachua deputies said.
