JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Empty shelves and higher prices are making it harder for families to shop for weekly groceries. Action News Jax, Meghan Moriarty, worked with a Jacksonville grocery chain and Baptist Health dietician to shop for a family of four for five nights of dinner, spending under $25 a night.

“All the recipes that I chose are very versatile,” Sara Falk said.
Falk is a registered dietician with the ‘Personalized Approach to Health’ (PATH) program at Baptist Health. Ahead of our shopping spree, she picked out five different meals.

Falk said it’s always good to go to the store with a list. She adds to also download your grocer’s app to see if it has any deals that week.

Most of the meals Falk chose are quick and easy. She recommends picking generic, store-brand items, as they tend to be cheaper.
