JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The U.S. Navy Blue Angels graced the clear blue skies over Jacksonville Friday.
They weren’t here for a show, but their visit had a much bigger purpose.
It was a thank you to essential frontline workers.
After leaving from Naval Station Mayport, the people on the beaches were the first to get a glimpse of the world-famous Blue Angels.
Behind the scenes, videos on Instagram show the world’s best pilots heading to the tarmac.
Meanwhile, people on Jax Beach like Jim Kowall were getting in position to get a good view.
“Now that they’re giving a little bit back to them, I think it’s really cool to see them in a different aspect,” Kowall said.
While it was a much-needed break for everyone, but probably no one needed that break more than our frontline heroes.
“We appreciate them taking the time to flyover over our hospital,” nurse Com’mon Armstrong said.
The Blue Angels flyover also honored first responders and all essential personnel.
Daisy Kowall, said their visit this time had a deeper meaning.
“I enjoyed being able to see that they’re giving back to the community to bringing hope,” Daisy Kowall said.
In true Blue Angels fashion before leaving Jacksonville, they inspired a whole new generation and gave hope to those who are sacrificing their lives for us.
“It’s nurses’ week so this was icing on the cake for nurses’ week,” another nurse said.
The Blue Angels also flew over Miami after departing Jacksonville.
