FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Tracking strong cold front bringing rain, thunder, big cool down

This morning, we are waking up under mostly cloudy skies and a southerly breeze.

  • Temperatures are in the upper 60s to lower 70s
  • A few damp roads are possible after a small band of showers passes through before the bulk of the AM commute.
  • A line of rain and embedded thunder will approach I-75 by 9 am.
  • A few gusty winds are possible as well.
  • A line of heavy showers/thunder will move through Jacksonville between 10 AM and noon, ahead of a strong cold front.
  • St. Augustine will see that same line near noon.
  • Our highs for the day will be established this morning.
  • Temperatures will be in the lower 70s and then drop to the upper 50s to lower 60s through the afternoon behind the front.
  • Overnight, inland frost is possible as temperatures plumet to the lower to mid 30s.
  • Highs tomorrow will only be in the mid to upper 50s under sunny skies.
