Kamiyah Mobley's kidnapper pleads guilty, faces 22 years in prison

STORY: Kamiyah Mobley to appear on season premiere of 'Iyanla: Fix My Life'

UPDATE 9:34 a.m.: Kamiyah Mobley's kidnapper, Gloria Williams, pleaded guilty in court Monday.

The maximum amount of time she will spend in prison is 22 years, with a minimum of zero, according to the judge.

The sentencing hearing will be May 3 at 10 a.m..  As part of the plea deal, no federal charges can be brought up against Williams.

Gloria Williams, a South Carolina woman accused of kidnapping Kamiyah Mobley at birth and raising her as her own from a Jacksonville hospital in 1998, could possibly accept a plea deal today.

Action News Jax law and safety expert Dale Carson says he doesn't believe the case will go to trial. “There’s no question that a deal is now in the works, because you don’t cancel jury selection without the judge’s approval,” Carson said.

Gloria Williams was booked into the Duval County Jail on Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Jury selection for William’s trial was scheduled to happen this week but was canceled in court Thursday.  was canceled for Williams’ trial on Thursday.

Williams faces charges of kidnapping and interfering with custody.

Prosecutors said she raised Mobley, now 19, in South Carolina under the name Alexis Manigo.

A disposition hearing is set for Monday at 9 a.m.
