JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police are investigating a man's death early Thursday morning in Lackawanna.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the victim, 32-year-old Aaron Cogdell, was shot and killed in the 2700 block of Fleming Street, which is near McCoy Creek.
Police said the shooting happened at about 1:30 a.m. Cogdell was shot in his front doorway.
The family told Action News Jax there was a shooting in the area over the weekend, and it is believed to be related. Action News Jax is working to confirm the details with authorities.
There is no suspect information at this time.
Detectives are looking for witnesses. Anyone who has any information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS. You can remain anonymous and receive a possible reward of up to $3,000.
Cogdell had eight children.
