SpaceX posted their mission on social media overnight, with a successful launch at 2:42 a.m. Sunday, May 9.
NASA is preparing to launch its sounding rocket, Black Brant XII, from Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia on Sunday, May 9. The launch will be no later than 8:43 p.m.
The launch was originally scheduled for Saturday night but was rescheduled due to windy weather conditions.
Eastern U.S. residents may be able to see a brief light show from their backyards if weather permits.
