Nassau County, Fla. — Seven members of a Nassau County drug trafficking ring are behind bars after a months-long investigation into their illegal operation, the Sheriff’s Office announced Friday.
Kristy Bunkley, Clay McCullers, Nathaniel Green, John Woods, James Hand, Shelley Crider and Morgan Lawrence were arrested following a multi-agency investigation that began in September 2020.
The Sheriff’s Office says Bunkley was the main distributor for Nassau County users.
Over the course of the investigation Nassau detectives, DEA agents, and others, conducted several controlled purchases of methamphetamines from members of the organization, often exceeding more than 100 grams at a time, NCSO said.
Members of the drug trafficking organization were also involved in the selling of stolen firearms and receiving firearms in trade for meth, investigators said.
NCSO says the majority of people purchasing illegal drugs from the suspects were residents of Nassau County.
During their arrests, investigators seized approximately 8 kilograms of methamphetamines, $50,000, as well as several guns, according to NCSO.
The suspects face several felony charges including, trafficking methamphetamines, armed trafficking of methamphetamines, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, among others, according to court documents.
Deputies say several of the suspects face mandatory minimum sentences due to their extensive criminal histories and the amount of meth being distributed.
