ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — Damage from a lightning strike has caused the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch library to close temporarily, according to the St. Johns County Public Library System.
The building’s roof and electrical system are undergoing emergency repairs after lightning struck on July 1. No people were harmed, and the collection was not damaged.

The library is expected to reopen during the week of July 18.
As the library remains closed, there will be no due items, no late fee charges and all holds will be extended. Item returns and book donations are not available during the closure.
