Woman, teen girl in critical condition after shooting in Palatka, police say

PALATKA, Fla. — Palatka Police Department is investigating after a young woman and a teen girl were shot on North 16th Street.

According to police, a 16-year-old girl was shot in the face/head area and a 20-year-old woman was shot in the back.

The woman and teen were being assisted by other people when officers arrived, and both were alert and conscious, police said.

They were taken to HCA Palatka Hospital and transferred to nearby trauma centers. PPD said the girl and woman are stable, but they are in critical condition.
