UPDATE: 8 p.m. show goes on after two drive-in screenings of ‘Coming 2 America’ were cancelled due to weather

The showings scheduled for noon and 4 p.m. are canceled; 8 p.m. still on for now

The show must go on. The 8 p.m. drive-in movie screening of ‘Coming 2 America’ went on as scheduled and dozens of cars attended.

Black Films Matter is cancelling two of it’s scheduled screenings of the new Eddie Murphy movie ‘Coming 2 America’.

Organizers tell Action News Jax tickets will be honored at the 8 p.m. showing contingent upon improved weather. They are currently working on an indoor location for anyone wanting to watch the movie at 8 p.m. if the drive-in is canceled for today.

If the evening showing is canceled, Black Films Matter and 1Bridge say they will announce “a bigger and better plan for April/May 2021” next week, where all current ticket purchases will be honored.

You’re in luck if you’re looking for a socially-distant screening of “Coming 2 America.”

Black Films Matter is hosting drive-in screenings of the much-anticipated sequel Saturday, March 6, in the back parking lot of the Regency Mall located at 9501 Arlington Expressway.

There will be food trucks and pre-show entertainment that includes African dancers.

Guests are encouraged to wear their finest Zamundan attire.

Screenings take place at 12 p.m., 4 p.m., and 8 p.m. in the parking lot that faces Monument Road.
