Clay County, FL. — Armesha Johnson is named in a FDLE (Florida Department of Law Enforcement) investigation summary involving Clay County Sheriff Darryl Daniels.
“I got a call from a Jacksonville number about midnight that kept calling back to back. I didn’t answer because I didn’t know who it was and then I got a text message saying this is Darryl put your big girl panties on I need to talk to you,” Johnson explained.
Johnson told Action News Jax on the night of her 26th birthday three years ago in Dallas Texas she got several calls from Daniels.
“It was scary, he knew he knew everything about me. My job, my address, everything about me it was frightening,” said Johnson.
Johnson says she doesn’t know Daniels personally and they had no relationship, only he was dating her boyfriend’s ex-wife Cierra Smith who is named as Daniels mistress in the report and worked under him at JSO for a time.
“He was trying to give me information on the man Cierra was sleeping with for information when they finalized the divorce,” said Johnson.
A 50-page FDLE investigative summary states Daniels sent Johnson harassing text messages and illegally used a law enforcement database to track down her personal information.
Their conversation became part of the year-long investigation.
FDLE’s summary report also states Daniels did request a background check into Armesha Johnson, but it wasn’t a legitimate request.
After his arrest, Daniels denied any wrongdoing calling the charges against him dirty politics and he would not step down as sheriff.
Johnson thinks differently and has this message for the sheriff.
“When you take an oath, you are not above the law just because you are the law,” Johnson explained.
Daniels is facing four charges, including one felony.
Sheriff Daniels name will still be on the ballot in Tuesday’s primary.
