Police respond to shooting, burglary in Moncrief Park area

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to two separate incidents on Saturday evening.

Officers were first dispatched to the 1300 block of West 25th Street around 7:30 p.m. in reference to a shooting.

They found a man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He has not been identified.

A few minutes later, officers were dispatched just a few blocks down from the initial shooting to a home burglary.

They located the residence and took an individual into custody.

Police are interviewing witnesses and gathering additional information. Further details have not been provided at this time.
