Jacksonville teen shot in the face on the Westside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATED STORY 5/12/2021:

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has arrested two juveniles in connection to the shooting that occurred on Cranberry Lane South Tuesday night.

A 17-year-old and a 15-year-old are being charged for possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana. The arrest report does not go into detail on how the juveniles are involved in the shooting.

This is a developing story. We will update you once we learn more.

ORIGINAL STORY 5/12/2021:

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded at around 4:35 p.m. to reports of a person shot in the area of 7700 Cranberry Lane South.

Officers found a teenage boy walking down the street with a gunshot wound to the face.

JFRD took the teen, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, to the hospital.

Officers located a house nearby where it appeared the shooting occurred.

The violent crimes unit has responded and is taking over the investigation.

At this time, there is no suspect information.

Several witnesses have been located and are cooperating.
