JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Neighbors tell us the victim was 27-year-old Caroline Schollaert.

JSO is still searching for the person who did it releasing photos of someone they believe may have information regarding who killed Schollaert.

Schollaert was an active member of the US Coast Guard assigned to the helicopter interdiction tactical squadron or “hitron” here in Jacksonville.

A young woman who dedicated her life to serving our country was taken far too soon.

Tuesday morning a neighborhood on Myra Street in Riverside erupted in gunfire.

“I heard six. I heard four in rapid succession followed by two and so it kind of unnerved me, explains a neighbor.

Neighbors too afraid to show their faces on camera since the man who killed her is still out there.

JSO says she called 911 after she saw a man breaking into her car. Police say it appears she surprised the suspect, he then shot her and ran away.

Investigators released new video they believe shows the suspect. He appears to be wearing a backpack, a hat, and possibly a face mask.

JSO also sharing new photos of someone they believe may know something who is responsible.

We’re told the person in these photos was seen running in the 2600 block of Rosselle street and picked up by someone in a newer model Ford Edge.

A neighbor explains, “Lives are changed. Not only her family’s lives, his, her work community, and even for us around here. We feel very fragile.’

The US Coast Guard is not releasing her identity but tells us:

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of a member of our Coast Guard family and we offer our deepest condolences to their family and those impacted by this tragedy. The Coast Guard is ensuring support resources are available to aid the member’s family and shipmates as we navigate this difficult time. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is the lead agency for this investigation with assistance from the Coast Guard Investigative Service. We are coordinating with them as they conduct their investigation.”
