JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a stabbing occurred in a home Tuesday night on Brider Street.
STORY: First responders holding active shooter training in E-Town
According to detectives, just before midnight, patrol officers responded to Plateau Street after hearing someone calling for help. When officers arrived, they found a man in his 40s with what appeared to be multiple stab wounds. The man advised officers that he and another man were stabbed on Brider Street.
Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded and transported the man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries to undergo surgery.

Meanwhile, officers responded to Brider Street and located the residence where the stabbing occurred. Inside, they found and unidentified man with multiple stab wounds. JFRD responded and pronounced him dead at the scene.
The Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit are currently on scene conducting the investigation with help from the State Attorney’s Office. At this time, detectives are attempting to locate witnesses and surveillance footage to determine what led to the stabbing.
