ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — A boat worth more than $100,000 was stolen from a storage lot in St. Augustine.

Jeffrey Salch said he kept his boat at the storage lot on Industry Place, but when he went to pick it up on Mother's Day morning, it was gone.

"I saw that the gate was open and there was a big space where the boat used to be," Salch said.

Salch said he was going to pick up the boat to have a Mother's Day outing with his wife and two young children.

"My wife was very upset," Salch said. "She was crying."

Salch said he bought the 29-foot Century boat last summer. It was named "Salt Daddy."

"(The kids) loved it," Salch said. "They loved fishing and tubing and all that stuff."

Salch said that along with the boat, twin 250 Yamaha motors were also stolen, as well as all his fishing gear and other equipment in the boat.

"I spent an entire year getting it to where I wanted and finished, and now it's gone," Salch said.

Salch said the value of everything that was stolen comes to around $145,000.

"Hopefully something happens," Salch said. "Hopefully somebody gets caught."

The incident report said the storage facility does not have any surveillance video.

Salch said a detective is looking into the case.
