Four people, including one child, died Friday night in a head-on crash involving four vehicles in Westside Jacksonville, according the Florida Highway Patrol.
The FHP report said the crash happened about 9:30 p.m. on U.S. 90 near the intersection of Otis Road.
A 1998 Toyota Corolla carrying five people and a 2015 Jeep Patriot collided head-on.
FHP said the Corolla came to rest across the eastbound and westbound lanes. The Jeep Patriot came to rest in the northern shoulder and then caught on fire.
A Chevrolet pickup had struck the side of the Corolla that was sitting across the roadway. This caused the Corolla to slide into the side of a GMC Pickup.
The FHP traffic report said a 12-year-old and 35-year-old Christina Marie Davis, two of the five passengers in the Corolla, died at the scene.
Three people were taken to UF Health, where 42-year-old Thaddeus Thomas Sutton, another Corolla passenger, died.
The driver of the Corolla, 30-year-old Evelyn Yson died in the hospital, FHP said Sunday in an updated release.
A 9-year-old girl is in serious condition.
The driver in the Jeep died at the crash scene, and FHP did not list any other Jeep passengers at the time of the crash.
FHP is still working to confirm the identity of the Jeep driver.
The Chevrolet pickup driver was taken to and later released from Fraser Hospital in Baker County. The GMC pickup driver was not injured and stayed at the scene.
All lanes at Beaver Street were closed due to the accident.
The investigation is ongoing as highway patrol personnel work to determine the cause of the crash.
