JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — More than 4,000 voters in Duval County received incorrect information from the Supervisor of Elections Office about where they should go to vote on Election Day.
“It’s just a bit of confusion and lack of clarity,” said Mandarin voter Jessica Fowler.
Story: Record voter turnout expected in Duval County
Fowler has gotten three voter-information cards this election cycle, all with different information about where she’s supposed to vote.
It’s the second voter-information card that was the most confusing.
“It said we were voting at Access Church on Old St. Augustine Road. But Access Church is located on Losco Road and the address was for River City Science Academy,” said Fowler.
Duval County’s chief elections officer Robert Phillips said the incorrect information was sent to voters in precinct 602 in Mandarin.

Phillips said people in that precinct are supposed to vote at River City Science Academy on Old St. Augustine Road, and the mix-up came after the buildings both switched ownership.
“We sent out new voter-information cards to everyone. It was correct on the sample ballot,” said Phillips.
But that wasn’t the end of it.
Fowler called the elections office when she saw a sign outside Access Church marking it a polling location.
That sign is now gone.
But it’s still not over.
On the Duval County Supervisor of Elections website, there is still a photo of Access Church with the address and name of River City Science Academy.
“That’ll definitely be updated,” said Phillips.
Fowler says she’s worried confused voters will give up.
Medical marijuana: A controversial vote on Election Day
“If someone’s pressed for work and they only have a short period of time before they have to drop off their kids, get to work, that they might say, ‘Forget it. It’s the wrong address. I don’t have time.’ And just not vote,” said Fowler.
Phillips said 56 percent of people in Precinct 602 have already voted early or by mail. He said there will be poll workers stationed at the church on Election Day to direct people to the school. He said no other precincts had a similar issue.
