JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On Wednesday afternoon, Action News Jax reporter Amber Krycka experienced police work from the other side of the camera.
Watch the video for her full experience at the training.
At the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office's training center, Krycka went through several scenarios officers go through: traffic stop, curtain drill and VirTra training.
There are 1,750 police officers in JSO. The Sheriff's Office said all of its officers go through a year of training before they hit the streets on their own. JSO said it looks for men and women who are patient and are able to react to a variety of different situations, like Wednesday's training, in a split-second.
