JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Action News Jax has learned that the husband of an officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, whose cruiser and weapons were stolen during a burglary at her home, is now under arrest.
An Action News Jax source reveals Bruno Bego, who is a Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, is connected to the theft of his wife’s JSO cruiser and other police equipment.
Police say Bego was on vacation when the theft happened. The police report mentioned that her husband left the home a day after she left for vacation.
A spokesperson at the base said Bego is currently facing a charge of being a fugitive from justice.
He is in custody at Onslow County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina.
According to court records, Bego is married to Jourdin Bego, whose JSO cruiser was stolen last week.
Action News Jax found her name listed in a police report in court records.
Police arrested three people in the armed burglary and theft of the JSO cruiser, and now, sources say Bego could face similar charges.
