FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. — The alligator that was pulled from the water in Fernandina Beach on Sunday was euthanized, according to officials.

A representative with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said  the reason behind the euthanization is called, SNAP for the State Nuisance Alligator Program.

When FWC hears of a nuisance gator, it brings in licensed trappers to remove it and then the trappers have free rein on what they do with the alligator.
