Keystone Heights man arrested after attempting to abduct multiple children in Starke

STARKE, Fla. —

A Keystone Heights man has been arrested after attempting to lure several small children into his Gray Mitsubishi SUV.

Anthony W. Terry Jr., 40, was around North Cherry Street and Jackson Street when multiple witnesses said they saw him trying to entice several children into his SUV, all of whom were under the age of 13.

When the children didn’t get into his vehicle, witnesses said he tried to grab two children who ran away.

Neighbors and parents confronted Terry and were able to keep him around the area until the Starke Police Department arrived and took him into custody.

According to the arrest report, Terry was arrested on several charges: Four counts of luring and enticing children under the age of 13, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, threats to kill law enforcement, disorderly intoxication, and loitering and prowling.

He was booked into the Bradford County Jail, now pending his first appearance.
