The Brunswick Fire Department began 2025 with big improvements to its equipment, replacing its old portable defibrillator units. Officials with the department say city employees will be trained on the new “Avive Connect” units - the first AED capable of sending real-time data and alerts to 911. The hope is that they will improve response times for life-threatening emergencies and increase patient survival rates.
