Campione Law, P.A. purchases historic Downtown Jacksonville building

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Campione Law, P.A., one of the fastest growing personal injury attorney firms in Northeast Florida, recently purchased one of the oldest commercial buildings in Jacksonville.

STORY: City Council member bikes to work in honor of National Bike to Work Week

A survivor of the May 3, 1901 Downtown Jacksonville Fire, 501 West Bay St. once housed one of the city’s most important industries in the 19th Century, the El Modelo Cigar Factory.

El Modelo is historically significant because in 1893, Jose Marti, founder of the Cuban Revolutionist Party, gave a fiery speech at the location to build support for the liberation of his homeland.

From 1915 to 1965, the building was a hotel, operating as the Plaza, the Hillsboro, the Southern and the New York Hotel.

With this incredible history built into the structure over the past two centuries, Campione Law, P.A. looks to continue the this history by giving each client the opportunity to seek justice, and give hope to all those that come in.
