JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Brent Loy was going through what was left of his office, Wednesday afternoon.
The owner of Kirby Vacuum Service & Repair told Action News Jax a car slammed into his shop in Murray Hill around 1 a.m.
“This is just the worst. It went all the way through the building. He was flying. He didn’t even hit the breaks,” he described.

Loy sent Action News Jax pictures of the car inside his shop at the corner of Post and Melba streets.
He said the driver was going at least 80 miles per hour down Post Street, missed the curve, and kept going.
“He took off running, but we had eyes on him in the neighborhood. They sent the cops after him, he resisted and they tased him last night,” Loy explained.
According to the owner, the service center has been hit before.
“They’ve been hitting me for years. All the way up and down the wall. I mean everything has been hit. This is the worst that I’ve seen,” Loy described.
Loy says the intersection is the issue.
He has put up lights and even concrete polls at one point to protect the building.
Now he wants the city to step in.
“They need to put some blinking lights on this turn. I’ve been saying that for years. They have reflective arrows out there, but people, they just don’t see it.”
He said he is relieved that no one got hurt.Despite the damage the shop is open for business.
