32 guests were on board the bus at the time. Four passengers' injuries were too severe to be treated in the Bahamas. Those passengers were flown back to the U.S. and treated in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

We heard from the trauma surgeon in Broward County that helped three of the hospitalized passengers.

“A lot of fractures, we see a lot of bruising, a lot of muscle injuries from blunt trauma, as well as, some neurological injures as well," Dr. Jose Lozadad of Broward Health Medical center said.

Action News Jax reporter Elizabeth Pace spoke with passengers as they disembarked.

Some cruisers did not know about the crash until they received a letter under their doors while onboard.

Shannon Roberts, a passenger on the cruise ship who was not involved in the Bahamas crash received the letter.

“You never want to hear about anybody getting hurt, especially when they’re on vacation because it ruins everybody’s time,”Roberts said.

We reached out the the cruise line to find out what caused the single vehicle crash in the Bahamas. They said it is still under investigation.

The cruise began in Jacksonville on June 22.
