UPDATE: Missing Clay County 4-year-old found safe

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — UPDATE 6/8/19 6:08 P.M.: The Clay County Sheriff's Office said James Dean Welles Jr. and his mother Jady Shannon Dow have been safely located in Duval County.

CCSO told Action News Jax the boy and his mother were found in Jacksonville Beach. Police and the Florida Department of Chlidren and Families are speaking with the mother.

James Dean Welles Jr., 4, is still missing and considered endangered, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office. The child is connected to a recent drug bust.

Action News Jax reporter Alicia Tarancon was there during the drug bust Thursday in Orange Park and spotted the mother and child leaving the area.  Deputies believe he may be in the custody of hs mother or other family members.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office is asking the community for help looking for a 4-year-old who is considered missing and endangered.James Dean Welles Jr. was last seen at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in Brighton Village, near Kettering Way.

Welles was last in the custody of his mother, Jady Shannon Dow, but police say he could be with other family members.

CCSO told Action News Jax that the missing child is connected to the SWAT raid that led to a narcotics bust at Brighton Village on Thursday.

Police believe that the young boy is in imminent danger.
