Chicago Pizza to reopen after deadly Jacksonville Landing shooting

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office addressed the public about the mass shooting at the Jacksonville Landing.

Eli Clayton, 22, was a talented young Madden 19 player who enjoyed success using the Jacksonville Jaguars in tournaments.

Two people were shot fatally, nine were shot but are expected to survive, the shooter killed himself, and two people sustained injuries some other way, according to the JSO.

Chicago Pizza is located nextdoor to Good Luck Have Fun Gaming Bar, where the shooting took place.

Police began to remove police tape not long after the sun set.

14 people were harmed at the mass shooting Sunday afternoon, police said. Witnesses describe the panic.

The Landing mass shooting was broadcast throughout the United States, all local media outlets were present any time police released information.

A number of hastags grew in popularity following the incident. People wanted to show support to the victims and their loved ones.

The Salvation Army responded with food, hydration, and emotional and spiritual care to first responders and survivors.

Chicago Pizza and GLHF Game Bar located at The Landing in Jacksonville has been closed since the Aug. 26 shooting tragedy.

A Baltimore man fatally shot two people and injured nine others during a video game tournament at the restaurant's gaming bar before turning the gun on himself, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

The restaurant took to social media to announce its reopening for Friday, Oct. 5.

"As a family owned and operated business, we are looking forward to getting our employees back to together, serving all of our favorite people and continuing our relationship with vendors who have been so kind and supportive during all of this," the restaurant wrote Tuesday.

According to the post, Chicago Pizza will hold slightly different hours than before. The hours of operations will be Sunday - Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m..

In regard to the gaming area where the deadly mass shooting took place during a EA Sports Madden tournament, the restaurant stated the following:

"GLHF will be undergoing a revival of sorts over the coming weeks as we have decided to rebuild your favorite Game Bar from the ground up. We want to provide a beautiful, and fun environment for our entire community that has done so much for us. To do that correctly it will take time. GLHF will return because of all of you."

The gaming area will also continue to stream live gaming events where gamers can "watch on twitch in your very own private booth," according to the post.
