DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — UPDATE 9/7/2021: The United States Coast Guard Southeast announced Mr. Jim Evan’s body was discovered Tuesday, ending the five-day search.
They said he was found about eight miles southeast of Port Canaveral.
UPDATE 9/6/2021: On Monday, the United States Coast Guard Southeast announced that the search for the missing diver has been suspended.
UPDATE 9/5/2021: The search is ongoing for a missing diver 30 miles off the coast of Daytona Beach. Crews from the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville have searched for a total of 62 hours and covered 2,350 square nautical miles.

U.S. Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville is searching for a diver who went missing 30 nautical miles off the coast of Daytona Beach.
A spokesperson with the Coast Guard told Action News Jax the diver never resurfaced after a dive Friday morning.
The diver was reportedly wearing a multi-color camouflage wetsuit.
Mariners are being asked to keep a sharp lookout when transiting the area and to report any information to Sector Jacksonville via VHF Channel 16.
