JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville college student was pistol whipped, robbed and left without a car while delivering pizzas.
Anthony Cogswell said he was working his way through college by delivering pizzas at Domino's.
That was until, he says, one night of delivery turned ugly.
“I went to the backseat to get the pizza and they took it from me, set it on the ground behind them and then hit me with the butt of the gun, pistol whip," Cogswell said.
Cogswell said he showed up to an abandoned home on West 15th Street and the two men who ordered the pizza were waiting out front.
"Kind of jumped me. Told me to take my pants off," Cogswell said.
According to an incident report Action News Jax obtained from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Cogswell told officers the order was for a Ricky Knight.
And when Cogswell went to get the pizza from the backseat, the two men started throwing punches at him.
Cogswell said the men then demanded money.
"I threw the $23 on the ground. That's all I had on me. They said “Where's the rest,” but I didn't have anymore," said Cogswell.
After missing work for about a week after this happened, Cogswell said he asked for a different position, but it cost him his job.
“They said 'either you're a driver or you don't have a job,'" Cogswell said.
Domino's told Action News Jax that he quit.
Police said his car was found the next day abandoned about 2 miles away.
No arrests have been made.
