JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A commercial fire on Bulls Bay Highway on Jacksonville’s Westside is now under control. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department said black smoke coming from the commercial structure fire could be seen for miles.
Action News Jax has learned the fire happened at an export and recycling business that pulls parts from cars. Due to the tires and oil present, there was a huge plume of black smoke.
There were no reported injuries and the State Fire Marshall has been requested.
The road was closed as crews worked in the area and will be reopened soon.
This is a developing story that will be updated once more information becomes available.
