A man is facing charges after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in computer equipment that was donated to students from Camp Blanding.
Ken Camanga, 47, was arrested Friday by the Clay County Sheriff's Office for grand theft.
According to a police report, deputies said last November, an employee of the National Guard contacted Camanga at the Duval County Public Schools, where he works in the technology division, to donate more than $13,000 in computer equipment.

In mid-January, the employee contacted the school district to schedule a public relations event to show the donated items being used and that's when a red flag went up. Camanga's supervisor said Camanga was never authorized to take donations from Camp Blanding, according to the police report.
"It's very disappointing because those computers can go to help my child or my friend's children,” said parent Brooke Klaiber.
The police report goes on to say Camanga took the computer equipment to a scrap yard and sold it for just more than $300. The school district said Camanga is still employed pending the ongoing investigation.
