There were several incidents around the Jacksonville area over the weekend.
Many were either killed or injured in a shooting or car crash. Others searched for cover to avoid injury in what witnesses called a "shootout" at a busy shopping plaza Sunday morning.

Another was airlifted after a verbal argument became violent in Putnam County.

- The Florida Department of Children and Families confirmed the death of a 5-year-old girl who was badly beaten in a Westside home.

- An elderly man was hit and killed by a minivan Saturday night in Clay County.
- A man was shot and killed in a Mandarin apartment complex early Sunday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
- Several witnesses tell Action News Jax a shootout happened at a busy shopping plaza at Beach Blvd and Hodges. Police said there were no injuries.
- Six people were shot mere blocks away from a Jacksonville Jaguars's game at TIAA Bank Field. Three people are listed in critical condition, according to JSO. Police released an image of the vehicle they believe the shots came from.
- A 24-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle accident in Riverside where authorities said he struck a palm tree.
- Shooting in Moncrief area leaves one person dead. Story.
- A 23-year-old Orange Park man died in chain-reaction crash involving four vehicles on Beach Boulevard., according to Florida Highway Patrol.
- A pedestrian was hit by a car in Jacksonville Beach, police said.
- A man was arrested after a verbal argument left one woman with serious head trauma.
- A motorcycle-involved crash occurred Sunday night in the area of Desalco Road and Beach Boulevard. This was the third motorcycle death of the weekend.
