Department of Education awards over $24 million to expand workforce development programs

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida Department of Education has awarded over $24 million through the Workforce Development Capitalization Incentive Grant Program (Workforce CAP).

Workforce CAP aims to support and expand workforce development programs across the state, offering students hands-on experiences in high-demand industries.

With this new investment, the Workforce CAP’s total investment has reached around $190 million since its inception in 2023.

Institutions across the state will receive funding, especially some here in Northeast Florida. Those include:

“Under Governor Ron DeSantis' steadfast leadership, Florida continues to prioritize transformative investments in career and technical education,” said Commissioner of Education Manny Diaz, Jr. “This funding is expanding important workforce education programs in high-demand industries, creating new opportunities for students across Florida.”
