JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — One of the few clues to surface in the search for two missing boaters was Brian McCluney's tackle bag.

It was found by Garrett Shurling who traveled from Savannah, Georgia to help with the search.

Two hours into his search he and two others on his boat pulled the bag on-board and brought it back into JFRD.

"We found a couple of maps from the Port Canaveral area which really raised our eyebrows."   Shurling said.

The family confirmed it belonged to Brian.

The two men left from Port Canaveral for a fishing trip Friday.

Shurling said he was sitting in church Sunday and felt compelled to help.

He is the only person who has found anything that we know of that belongs to the men.

"We were excited that maybe it would provide them some clue where they've been drifting or where they may be located."

The Coast Guard says a Styrofoam cooler top was also found, but they cannot verify with certainty it belongs to the two men.

Search crews say the discovery is a step in the right direction, and it has prompted them to dedicate additional resources to the area where the bag was found.
