Poems, letters written by Lonzie's mother released

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Documents released by the State Attorney's Office reveal poems and love letters written by Lonna Lauramore Barton while she was in jail.

The documents also reveal Lauramore Barton had a court ordered pregnancy test while in jail.

“Our life can only get better. This is a minor setback for a major comeback," she wrote in one letter to Ruben Ebron, who was convicted of manslaughter in her son Lonzie's death.

Lauramore Barton wrote not only love letters to Ebron, but also a letter that accused him of lying about her to police.

In one letter she said she didn't want to have their baby in prison.

"Stop all the lies," Lauramore Barton said. “We are plus 1 now. My soon-to-be husband.”

Lauramore Barton also wrote song lyrics, including verses from Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" and "All of Me" by John Legend.

There also appears to be a handwritten poem from Lauramore Barton where she writes, in part: "One day this game will be over and I'll still be gone to live with the Lord. I'll wait for you forever more."

In another jail letter, Lauramore Barton said she plans to write a book.

“I plan to write a book of my life, mainly because I want the world to one day know my true feelings and my story,” Lauramore Barton wrote.

Lonzie was reported missing in July 2015. Ebron led officials to Lonzie's body in January.

Lauramore Barton was charged with child neglect and giving false information to police in connection with her son's disappearance.
