She survived a jump off the Mathews Bridge and on Friday, Jacksonville's adventure dog made it home.

The Jacksonville Humane Society called her “Bridgette” because of what she'd been through. We learned her real name, met her owners and learned how she got away.

It’s been quite a week for the little dog known as "Bridgette." When Robyn Goldfarb and her boyfriend William Allan adopted her, they named her Jane. Last Friday, April 29, Jane took off.

"We were out with our neighbors and something spooked her and she ran," Goldfarb said.

Goldfarb said Jane has run before but she always came back. Saturday morning: No Jane. Instead, she was making her way to the Mathews Bridge about a mile away. We told you Thursday how she was on the bridge, got spooked and jumped.

"That's why she survived. Four pounds of little tenacity. Named her after G.I. Jane," Goldfarb said.

Turns out, Jane is an even better name for her than Bridgette.

"She's very happy to be home and we're very happy to have her back," Goldfarb said.

Thursday, one of Goldfarb's neighbors showed her our story.

"She's like that's your dog ... crap that's our dog!" Goldfarb said.

Goldfarb called the Humane Society and now Jane is back home.

"She's going to be on leash for a long time!" Goldfarb said.
