JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Duval County School leaders held a meeting Monday to review safety and learning environments in Duval County schools.

Leaders presented the results of a survey on the culture of their schools, in which 6,000 teachers took part.

The survey found that the 78 percent of teachers agree that school leaders are promoting a safe and productive learning environment in their schools, with only 22 percent either on the fence or disagreeing.

When asked if their school is a good place to teach and learn, 74 percent of teachers either agree or strongly agree.

Duval County School Superintendent Dr. Nikolai Vitti told Action News Jax that the numbers are a start and students are helping create a better culture.
