1 injured after shots fired at group of people near downtown Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of shots fired at W. 39 Street and N. Pearl Street on Wednesday evening.

It was determined that a male victim had been shot in the area. He was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

An investigation revealed the suspect had shot into a crowd, striking the victim. Police say there were approximately 10 shots fired.

It is unclear what led to the shooting and there is no suspect information.
