JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Mathias Etoh, 21, has been arrested by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office on multiple counts of sexual battery and kidnapping.
Police are asking anyone who may have been a victim of him to come forward. Action News Jax found at least three open cases connected to him, one that neighbors said led to screaming and fighting at roughly 3 a.m.

“You could hear screaming, like ‘let go of me’ ‘give me my phone back’, ‘help, help’,” Marcella Kane said.
Etoh is accused of one attack each in July, September and October 2021. All of Etoh’s listed victims were women that he met at beach bars or parties and each case involved alcohol. The most recent case in October involves a woman who met Etoh at a beach bar — the arrest report says Etoh brought her home after telling her they were going to an after-party, but nobody was there.
The report says he tried to have sex with her, began to choke her and punch her in the head. The woman told police that she ran out of the apartment complex, but Etoh followed her and said he would take her home.
From there, the fighting reportedly continued.
A witness of this incident, Marcella Kane, told Action News Jax that she woke up to screams in the hallway, saw fighting unfold in the parking lot and even said the woman’s feet were hanging out of the car door.
“The passenger door is open, her legs are sticking out but she is not moving, you don’t hear her screaming,” Kane said. “His car revs off in the distance, we lose sight and after about five minutes the police show up.”
The arrest report says Etoh tried to touch the woman again in the car and while getting out of it. The report indicates that Etoh then picked the woman up against her will and slammed her onto the vehicle, trying to hold her down. The woman eventually got away and police noticed bruises on her face, scratches on her knees, back and neck with her shirt ripped.
Kane told Action News Jax that knowing she lives in the same building as Etoh makes her uncomfortable.
“Very off-putting, makes me feel uncomfortable,” she said.
Etoh has since posted bond to get out of jail, so Action News Jax went to his address on the report. The apartment complex was gated. While no number was listed for him, we contacted who we believe are Etoh’s family members, but nobody answered.
Action News Jax also reached out on Facebook looking for a comment but has not received a response.
