3 people hurt in shooting in Northwest Jacksonville, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to the 9300 block of Norfolk Boulevard in response to a reported shooting on Saturday night.

Police arrived around 8 p.m. and found 20 gun shell casings and blood in the area.

Police reached out to the local hospital and found out three people had checked in — all with gunshot wounds.

The victims were two males and one female with varying ages between 20 and 50 years old. They are all expected to recover, according to police.

There is no suspect information at this time and police believe this was an isolated incident. This shooting also occurred 10 minutes away from a shooting earlier on Saturday that resulted in the death of a 72-year-old man.

JSO’s Aggravated Battery Unit is investigating the area for witnesses and surveillance video.
