JACKSONVILLE. Fla. — Crews are on the ground at the Berkman II plaza, located in downtown Jacksonville, in preparation for a demolition this week.
The building has sat in disrepair for close to 15 years.

The building was in legal limbo after a construction worker died in a site accident in 2007.
The plan is to turn the property into townhomes and retail space.
Action News Jax’s Bridgette Matter is asking the city the expected timeline on when the project should be completed.
