JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Coast Guard and Navy rescued four mariners Thursday off a disabled fishing boat 55 miles off the coast of Jacksonville, according to Coast Guard officials.
The 37-foot fishing boat Fish Bone sent an emergency position-indicating radio beacon to the Coast Guard that it was disabled around 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The Coast Guard launched an Air Station Savannah helicopter crew to search for the boat. The crew located the boat, according to the release, and confirmed there were no medical concerns.
A Navy patrol boat in the area was diverted to the boat and put the boat in tow until the Coast Guard was able to get to the boat Thursday morning, according to the Coast Guard.
