JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Controversial comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan will be bringing his stand-up act to the River City.
Rogan’s “The Sacred Clown Tour” will be coming to the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena on Friday, April 8.
The timing of Rogan’s stand-up show seems to be aligned with the timing of UFC 273, which will be at the Veterans Memorial Arena the following night, Saturday, April 9. Rogan is a color commentator for UFC.
Rogan’s podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience” has been in the spotlight lately after several prominent musicians, including Neil Young and Joni Mitchell, pulled their songs from Spotify after the streaming service declined to pull episodes of the podcast.
The artists’ criticism of “The Joe Rogan Experience” centers around their belief that his podcast promotes misinformation about COVID-19.
“I will do my best to try to balance out these more controversial viewpoints with other people’s perspectives, so we can maybe find a better point of view,” Rogan said in a nearly 10-minute video, adding that he wants to showcase “all kinds of opinions” about the pandemic and other issues.
Tickets for Rogan’s Jacksonville tour stop go on sale to the general public on Friday, Feb. 18. Click here for more information.
