Ed White High School shifting to all online learning due to COVID-19 cases

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Ed White High School is switching to all virtual instruction due to the number of COVID-19 cases at the school.

As of Sept. 1, Duval County Public Schools has 1,620 COVID-19 cases districtwide.

Ed White has reported 43 cases total, 41 students, and 2 staff.

Starting Thursday, Sept. 2 all students will be online and should not go to the school.

Students should log on to their fifth-period class (B-day) through Microsoft teams.

The school will stay online only through Sept. 8 and return to normal instruction on Sept. 9.

With the switch to virtual-only, all extracurricular activities, including athletics and arts event are suspended until normal operations resume.

“On behalf of the leadership, teachers and staff at Ed White, we will continue to work to make the online experience the best it can be and look forward to regathering as a school community on Sept. 9.,” the school said in an online statement.
